Both houses of Parliament were adjourned on Wednesday after the Opposition disrupted proceedings. In the Lok Sabha, Congress demanded a probe by a Joint Parliamentary Committee into the Rafale deal, Shiv Sena demanded the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and AIADMK agitated over the Cauvery issue, all of which led to the House being adjourned during Question Hour after members trooped into the well.

Amid protests, the Centre was able to introduce the Dam Safety Bill, which lays down safety procedures for reservoirs across the nation.

The first working day of the Winter session in the Rajya Sabha too was short and marked by protests. The proceedings saw two adjournments and a hurried passage of amendments to the National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999.

RS Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu had to adjourn the house at the beginning of the day as members of AIADMK and DMK trooped to raise the issue of protection of farmers in the Cauvery Delta region. After resumption of business, the House was adjourned again. In the last half, MPs from YSR Congress also descended into the well. The House passed the amendments to the Bill before before adjourning for the day.
