GURGAON: One undertrial was killed and two others were injured when unidentified persons opened fire on them near the district court at Rajiv Chowk in the wee hours on Monday in an apparent case of gang rivalry.

A police team was escorting the three undertrials Lal Singh, Nain Singh and Sudesh to Jaipur for investigations into a murder case from the Bhondsi jail when unidentified persons fired several rounds at them, Senior Superintendent of Police Hanif Qureshi said.

All three received bullet injuries and were rushed to the hospital where Lal Singh succumbed to his injuries, the SSP said.

Qureshi said the attack appeared to be a case of gang rivalry and added that no policeman was injured in the incident.
