One CRPF personnel and a Maoist were today killed in the fierce encounter that is going on since yesterday in West Singhbhum district, taking the toll to five.
A CRPF personnel and a Maoist were killed today in the encounter in Tirilposhi jungle while two policemen and an ultra died yesterday, IG (operation) RK Mallick.
The encounter is still continuing, he said, adding more casualties on the Maoist side were reported.
Asked whether the bodies of those ultras were found, he said it would be known only when the encounter would be over.
The bodies of two Maoists were recovered, he said.
An injured policeman died in hospital late last night while another was killed on the spot in the encounter.
The victims were identified as Rajiv Ranjan and Jehangir Khan, both personnel of the state armed police.
CRPF assistant commandant Nitish Kumar, who was injured yesterday in the encounter, is out of danger now, the IG added.
