Oil, gas firms to arrange drives to save fuel

On Tuesday, under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, a fuel conservation drive ‘Saksham’ was launched by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association. During the month-long drive, the oil and gas companies are going to carry out cyclothons, fuel conservation workshops, a nationwide radio, TV and digital campaign. 

The drive will also see publicity vans of PCRA, the messengers on wheels were flagged-off covering various cities to spread conservation awareness especially among the rural masses on fuel conservation. 

Under the Saksham programme, cyclothons have been organized in 76 cities and there are plans to organise them in 600 more cities across the country. As part of this year’s programme, a National Quiz Competition final will be held that has seen participation of students from all states. 

Last year, the PCRA Saksham National Essay and Painting competition-saw 40 Lakh students participating from across schools of all education boards of the country.
