Odhav observes bandh to protest gang attack

Residents of Adinathnagar in Odhav observed a bandh aon Friday after some members of the notorious Fracture Gang, allegedly under the influence of drugs, roughed up commuters here late on Thursday night.

At 10 pm on Thursday the police were informed about members of the gang wielding sticks and swords, attacking some commuters. The gang members also ransacked shops in the area.

When the police went to stop the gang members, they too came under attack. Three policemen were also injured in the incident. Sources in the police said that the gang members were under the influence of a drug called Nitrogen 10.Police have arrested two people including one Suresh Goswami while five others are absconding.

Sources said that initially an inspector had gone alone but had to summon help as he saw how serious the situation was.
