The popular notion that to join politics, one has to be street smart and cunning, should change, Fadnavis said in a video message.

He was addressing a gathering via video message at the launch of Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini here in south Mumbai.

"It is necessary to have a broader perspective of the society and understand the challenges. Sometimes, even IAS qualified students do not understand the complexities of society," he said in the message.
