KOLKATA: There is not much to expect from the UPA government at the Centre during Tuesday's presentation of the Railway budget, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee said on Monday.

Banerjee, a former Railway minister said the UPA government had failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people and check the price rise and should seek a fresh mandate from the people as early as possible.

"Let the elections to the Lok Sabha be held as early as possible. We are prepared for it," she said.

Declining to comment on the Railway budget in advance, she said she would only give her reaction after examining the budgetary proposals on Tuesday.
