NEW DELHI: Assuring that there will be no discrimination in dealing with the Mumbai bomb blasts accused, the Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to take up on Friday the bail plea of Aziz Ahmed Mohammad Shaikh convicted for 5 years under TADA.

A three-member bench headed by Justice B N Aggarwal gave the assurance after Ahmed's counsel fighting Sanjay Dutt's case pleaded that no discrimination can be showed in granting bail to the accused persons.

The apex court had earlier decided to take up on Friday Sanjay Dutt's bail plea for an early hearing.

The counsel submitted that Aziz Ahmed was the first person to file a bail plea in the apex court after special judge Justice P D Kode commenced the process of convicting the various accused persons.
