No community transmission, situation under control in Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that there are only 40 COVID-19 positive cases that happened due to local transmission, the rest of the cases are due to foreign travel and Nizamuddin Markaz incident.He also informed that there is no evidence that showed community transmission, adding that the situation is under control.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced that there are only 40 COVID-19 positive cases that happened due to local transmission, the rest of the cases are due to foreign travel and Nizamuddin Markaz incident.He also informed that there is no evidence that showed community transmission, adding that the situation is under control.

"In Delhi, there are only 40 #COVID19 positive cases out of 435, that happened because of contact between people, other cases are due to foreign travel & NizamuddinMarkaz. This is something that makes me believe corona is not spreading here, it is under control," Kejriwal said.

"There is local transmission but not community transmission," he added.

Kejriwal also posted developments of the condition of COVID-19 patients lodged in various hospitals in the national capital."Out of all the COVID-19 patients in Delhi that are admitted, 11 are in intensive care units (ICUs) and 5 are on ventilators, all others are in stable condition," Kejriwal added.

Meanwhile, he said that out of all the people brought out from Markaz, 500 showed symptoms and have been admitted to hospitals & 1800 are under quarantine. All of them are being tested, he informed.

"Out of around 2300 people who were brought out from Markaz, 500 that showed symptoms have been admitted to hospitals & 1800 are under quarantine. We are getting all of them tested, their results will come in 2-3 days,it may lead to an increase in positive cases," Delhi Chief Minister said.

Earlier Kejriwal said that people told to home quarantine themselves are being tracked through their phone numbers.

"We handed over a list of 11084 phone numbers to police yesterday & 14345 phone numbers today of people who have been asked to remain in home quarantine. The police will track if they are following the instructions on home quarantine or not," Kejriwal said.

He also informed that 328 relief centres have been set up to accommodate 57,000 people.
