A situation has arisen in which it was very difficult to find an alternative to National Democratic Alliance at the Centre, BJP national executive member PS Sreedharan Pillai said on Wednesday.

'United Progressive Alliance which was formed as an alternative to NDA is in shambles. In many states the competition is within the allies of UPA. In this process the chance for setting up a third front is becoming bleak,' Pillai said after inaugurating election convention of BJP candidate NK Narayanan Namboothiri.

The former BJP Kerala unit president claimed the coming Lok Sabha election will become a waterloo for Congress and its leader Sonia Gandhi, he said.

CPI-M will face the biggest failure in the coming election, he claimed.
