No booze parties, say Ahmedabad clubs

The owner of Pleasure Club in Bopal, Chetan Shah, reportedly appeared before the Bopal police and informed them that he had no plans to organise New Year parties this year.

He told the Bopal police inspector that he had been approached by many people who wanted to book his club but he had refused because everyone wants booze parties at the venue.

The owners of other farmhouses, clubs and resorts in the Ahmedabad rural police area have also made similar disclosures, though all on the condition of anonymity.

Three days back, the police had announced that booze parties, late night parties, and loud parties after 11 pm would not be tolerated at all during New Year celebrations.

Apart from this, the police are also getting ready to nab mischief-makers during the celebrations.

The Bopal police are increasing their manpower for the purpose.
Police inspector BK Rana said he had asked senior officials for additional men, and that there will be visible police presence in Bopal, Shilaj and Gota circle. All in all, at every point, police squads will be watching passersby, he added.

Reputed clubs such as Karnavati and Greenwood have asked Sarkhej police recently for permission to host grand parties. Sarkhej police inspector MM Jhala said security plans were ready and, from the night of December 25, the police will intensify patrolling.

He said that around 40 farmhouses fall under his jurisdiction and each one was being checked by the police.
