KOCHI: Democratic Indira Congress (K) President, K Muraleedharan on Thursday ruled out merger or any alliance with the Congress.

Inaugurating the Ernakulam District convention of the DIC (K) here, Muraleedharan, who is fondly called as Murali, said his party's alliance with Congress had ended with the state assembly polls.

After the debacle in the assembly elections, Congress leaders were putting the blame on DIC (K) for the defeat, he said, adding his party would have got more votes, had it contested independently.

Muraleedharan said most of the constituents in the UDF were not happy with the front. UDF as a responsible opposition in the assembly should have voted against the Self Financing Colleges bill, which was passed recently, he said.
