"There is no reason and plan to replace Mr Vohra. He is an able administrator and would continue on his post until the end of his tenure in 2018," said the source putting an end to all speculations of Vohra being replaced with a confidant of BJP dispensation.

Vohra is widely respected for his administrative skills and has actively handled J&K affairs for more than 15 years and before becoming governor was government's Interlocutor in Kashmir.

The source also refuted assumptions that J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti wanted Vohra to be replaced. "It is all grapevine and untrue. Our focus is on solving Kashmir situation not aggravating it," said the source adding that 26 MPs from political parties other than BJP have confirmed their availability for the all-party delegation that will visit Kashmir for two days -- September 4 and 5 -- to help government extend political outreach and restore normalcy.
