Tejashwi Prasad Yadav took to a poem to highlight the "failures" of the BJP-led NDA government claiming it was the "last year of Modi sarkar".
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday extended congratulations to foe-tuned-friend and Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, for completing four years at the Centre, even as the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav took to a poem to highlight the "failures" of the BJP-led NDA government claiming it was the "last year of Modi sarkar".
Nitish's congratulatory message came on Twitter, where the Bihar CM said, "Congratulations to Honourable PM Narendra Modi on completion of four years of government formation… have full faith that the government will live up to the expectations of the people."
Earlier, while speaking at a bankers' event in Patna, the CM and JD (U) President had refused to make any special comment on the four years of the Modi government when asked by the media persons, but later took to the micro-blogging site to convey his greetings.
While allies showered praises on the PM, the Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress marked the day as 'Vishwatghat Diwas' (betrayal day).
RJD leader Tejashwi attacked the government over its "non-accomplishments" through a 22-line poem (in two parts) which he shared on Twitter with his hashtag "4SaalDeshBehaal".
Tejashwi's poem commenced with — "Mehangai aparampaar, arthvyavastha ka bantadhaar, mahilao ka shoshan lagatar, lootere desh se faraar…", where he targeted the Central government for "increasing inflation, weak economy, rise in crime against women and loan defaulters such as Mallya and Nirav Modi fleeing the country."
He also alleged that social unity and harmony was under attack and Dalits were neglected in the present regime apart from threat to democracy and said that the present government was a culprit of the people. "Sasta vikas, mehanga prachaar; Na roti, na rozgaar; Jumlebaazi ki bauchaar, punjipatiyon se pyaar, gareebo par atyachaar…" said Tejashwi and concluded it with the hashtag "LastYearOfModiSarkar".
