Dubbing Nitin Gadkari as a "pygmy in politics", law minister M Veerappa Moily today slammed the BJP chief for his remarks against Congress President Sonia Gandhi."The poor chap is a pygmy in politics," Moily told reporters here, describing Gadkari as a "small-time politician" presiding over the fate of a national political party.Moily was referring to the statement of Gadkari in which he had compared Gandhi's resolve to fight corruption to Pakistan saying it is combating terrorism."When Pakistan says we will fight terrorism, even the people of Pakistan and rest of world don't believe them. Similarly, when she (Gandhi) says so (on corruption) even Congressmen will not believe," Gadkari had said yesterday addressing a BJP meet in Kolkata.Questioning the "moral authority" of Gadkari in attacking Gandhi, the Union minister said before making any statement, the BJP chief should first look at allegations of corruption against Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa."It is a mischievous statement against a person who consolidated the party when it was on the verge of disintegration," he said.
