Nimbaheda MLA denies rape charges

A day after MLA from Nimbaheda and vice president of Pradesh Congress committee, Udai Lal Anjana’s name came up in an alleged rape case; the MLA came out denying the accusations and termed it a political vendetta against him. Moreover, the MLA claims that a final report (FR) was given to him by the authorities a decade back.

On Saturday, the legislator denied the accusations and termed them false. The MLA said that the woman had tried the same allegations earlier also and the matter was brought before the Crime Investigation department (CID) and even the Women’s Commission amongst other authorities, but an FR was given in the case in 2000-01.

Meanwhile, the MLA has also termed the same as a political vendetta against him since he has become popular.

Notably, a rape case has been registered against the MLA on the court directive. The civil judicial magistrate (CJM), Nagaur has directed the Moondwa police to submit a report in this matter after conducting investigation.

The petitioner woman, a native of Balaya village from Nagaur and currently residing at Fatehpura in Udaipur, has accused the MLA of exploiting her by proposing her for marriage on May 5, 1988 and then raping her. After this the MLA continuously raped her on the pretext of marrying her.
