Ramdev was speaking at Gurukul Kalwa, 25 km from here, during a programme to pay tributes to his guru Acharya Baldev, who passed away earlier this week. Ramdev said steps were needed to revive the Gurukul system of education.

"Now efforts will be made to ensure that the Arya Samaj and Gurukal tradition of education do not face any neglect," he said, claiming that a new National Vaidik Education Board would be constituted this year. Himachal Pradesh Governor Devvrat also paid tributes on the occasion and noted Baldev's contributions in revival of the Arya Samaj.
