BJP’s Sannapareddy Suresh Reddy, Congress’ Chevuru Devakumar Reddy, YSR Congress Party's Adala Prabhakar Reddy and TDP’s Beedha Masthan Rao were the key candidates in the fray in 2019.

YSR Congress Party's Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy was the sitting MP in Nellore who had secured 576396 votes in 2014 elections. He defeated Adala Prabhakara Reddy of the TDP who got 562918 votes.

2014: Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy of the YSR Congress secured 576396 votes. He thrashed Adala Prabhakara Reddy of the TDP who got 562918 votes.
2009: In 2009 also, MR Reddy of the YSR Congress received 535436 votes. He defeated TS Reddy of the Congress who only got 243691 votes.
2004: MR Reddy of the YSR Congress secured 430235 votes. He defeated Vanteru Venu Gopala Reddy of the TDP who got only 375242 votes.
Lok Sabha elections in all the 25 constituencies in Andhra Pradesh was held on April 11. The state also witnessed simultaneous assembly election.
