The government today informed Parliament that negotiations are continuing between the owner of the vessel 'Kota Wajar', on which two Indians are aboard, and the hijackers of the ship.

The vessel, registered in Singapore, was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden on October 15.

"The Government of Singapore has informed that negotiations are still going on between the owner of the vessel and the hijackers. All crew members are reported to be safe," external affairs minister SM Krishna said in his reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

He also said Singapore has given an assurance that it is monitoring the incident closely and working with the owner of 'Kota Wajar' to ensure safe release of the crew members.
