“The Centre should consider granting clemency to Afzal Guru given the fragile political situation in Kashmir. If he is hanged it will have serious political implications (in Jammu & Kashmir),” Beg said.

The statement comes a month after legislative assembly was adjourned without debating the ‘Save Afzal’ resolution owing to the ruckus by Congress and BJP members in the House.

Independent MLA from Langate Sheikh Abdul Rasheed, who had moved the resolution, said NC has run out of ideas, and hence, is raking up this issue.
