"The country's people have once again reposed their faith in Narendra Modi. It is the combination of good governance of Narendra Modi and leadership of Amit Shah," said Naqvi.

"People used to say that we do not have any strong base in Haryana, which was true to some extent. But now, we will be forming our government there," he added. In the assembly election results announced yesterday, the BJP won in 47 of the 90 assembly seats in Haryana, thus achieving majority in the state for the first time.

In Maharashtra, the BJP emerged as the single largest party winning 122 seats, though it fell short of winning an outright majority in the 288-member house.
