The country remains indebted to Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) personnel who were protecting its borders and providing internal security to the people, Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said today.The paramilitary force has a glorious history of valour and its jawans are the symbol of courage, discipline and patriotism, Hooda said at the 49th Raising Day Parade Function of ITBP at Bhanu, about 30 km from Chandigarh.ITBP personnel have ably performed their duties in unfavourable conditions to protect the borders of the country, director general (ITBP) Ranjeet Kumar Bhatia said.These days the force was also deputed to perform various kinds of duties like poll duty, maintaining internal security, he said.It was also doing involved in helping local population by organising various activities aimed at developing basic infrastructure, human resources, promotion of non-conventional energy resources, health and hygiene, he added.
