Reiterating that Narmada Bachao Andolan is against the development, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said dams constructed on Narmada were benefiting farmers."The Narmada Bachao Andolan's attitude is opposed to development. The big dams built on river Narmada have usheredin development and the farmers were getting water for their fields," Chouhan said addressing a women empowerment and panch-sarpanch meet at Mandleshwar near here.He said canals construction of Indira Sagar and Omkareshwar dams will be completed soon to ensure that farmers get enough water for their fields.Chouhan said a development authority will be constituted for Maheshwar and Mandleshwar.
