Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to share his thoughts. "World No Tobacco Day reminds us of the harms associated with tobacco consumption & a day to reaffirm our commitment to reduce this menace," he tweeted "The @WHO's focus on stopping illicit trade of tobacco products is a laudatory effort that will help in minimising tobacco consumption," he added.

World No Tobacco Day, which is observed on May 31 every year, aims at encouraging a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption around the globe.
