Narendra Modi turns 63, supporters flood Twitter with birthday wishes

BJP's announcement of selecting Narendra Modi as the PM candidate has come as a great birthday gift to the Gujarat chief minister, who turns 63 on Tuesday.

Modi, who visited his 94-year-old mother Hira Ba to seek blessings, said that mother’s blessings is one of life's great opportunities.

Modi was born on September 17, 1950, to a family of grocers in Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat. He was the third of six children born to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and his wife, Heeraben.

"I have faith that people's blessings won't go waste, it will give me strength to go on with my work,” the BJP poster boy said on his birthday.
