Narendra Modi govt not able to control edible oil prices: Congress
Price of groundnut oil had gone up from Rs 1,500 per 15 litres to over Rs2,000 in the last couple of months, Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil said.
Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil on Thursday accused the Narendra Modi government of not being able to control the rising prices of edible oils.Price of groundnut oil had gone up from Rs 1,500 per 15 litres to over Rs 2,000 in the last couple of months, Gohil said.Yesterday, Modi had held Union Government responsible for high prices of edible oils, saying that prices increased because of the ban on cotton exports."The Gujarat Chief Minister blames the Centre whenever he is supposed to provide relief to the people. But he faces no difficulty when relief of billions of rupees is to be provided to his friends," the Congress leader asked."Farmers are not getting good price and oil millers are charging exorbitant rates for groundnut oil," Gohil said, alleging that Modi was in cahoots with the millers, who provided funds to BJP."There is not a single raid on these millers. Congress subsidised groundnut oil whenever prices rose," Gohil said.Gohil also alleged that the Chief Minister bought gas at a high rate to provide it to Adani group at a lower rate.CAG report recently highlighted that Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation had purchased natural gas at high rates and sold it to Adani group at lower rates.
