As the country gears into election mode, a recent study by Blogworks reveals Gujarat Chief Minister's as #IndiasMostMentioned, between January 2013 - April 2013
With everything that has rocked thre BJP ship in the past few weeks, it should come as no shock that Narendra Modi makes it to the top on the list of India's Most Mentioned Political Leaders. Blogworks, an organisation that's heavily involved in helping engage other organisations with social media, has been tracking conversations over such networks between January - April, 2013, in light of the building momentum in conjecture on possible candidates for the 2014 elections.
This report is a part of Blogwork's first edition of its monthly India’s Most Mentioned Political Leaders index, analysing the Top 20 Most Mentioned Political Leaders online. The report is broken down into six categories, that are mentioned below:
Buzz over Time Period:
Although both Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi seemed to be neck-to-neck for the most number of mentions, the month of April decidedly tipped the balances in favour of Narendra Modi. "Narendra Modi has taken a dominant lead with just his April mentions exceeding the total mentions of Rahul Gandhi in the entire duration of Jan-April 2013", says Blogwork's website.
Age Break-up:
In terms of mentions from those aged between 18 - 34, Rahul Gandhi (67%) is in fact ahead of Narendra Modi (63%). Alternatively, for leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal, Sushma Swaraj and Nitish Kumar a majority of their mentions are made by those between 45 – 54 years.
