Canvassing for YSR Congress candidates in East Godavari district, Sharmila said the TDP chief is making false promises to reduce power tariff.

"During his tenure as chief minister, power tariff was hiked. If Naidu is voted to power, government employees will suffer a lot," she said.

She said that late AP chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had implemented several schemes for farmers, women, students and the downtrodden, but after his death, these schemes were slowly dropped.

Naidu had taken the BJP's support this time, because in 2004, he was defeated even after forming a "Maha Kutami" (grand alliance) to defeat the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

She also attacked Jana Sena leader and movie actor Pawan Kalyan, saying that his only political experience was acting in movies.
