A team led by Begusarai SP Avkash Kumar reached Verma's residence and pasted a property attachment notice outside it. Heavy security arrangements were made to avoid any untoward incident by her supporters.

The action comes a day after the former minister was proclaimed an "absconder" by a court in Majhaul in Begusarai.

The court had also directed for attachment of her properties and rejected her counsel's plea that "she was not absconding but seeking relief as per law and hence should not be declared an absconder".

Earlier, the Supreme Court had lashed out at the Bihar government for their failure to arrest an ex-cabinet minister in almost three months since the case was lodged, and summoned top cops to explain the reason for it.

The Arms Act case pertains to recovery of cartridges from Verma's home in Begusarai by CBI officials, who were searching the premises in connection with the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape cases.
