Members of Hindu and Muslim communities broke 51 coconuts in front of a goddess in the Laheripura Gate area under the walled city area here for appeasing the goddess for rain.
As delay in arrival of rain has worried the people, they took to the ritual.
A Hindu, engaged in business in the locality, said, "Members of both the community prayed together for appeasing the goddess installed in the Laheripura Gate."
