A leading educational body of Muslims in Madhya Pradesh today thanked president Barack Obama for forcing the US pastor Terry Jones to abandon his plans to burn copies of the Koran."Jones plan to burn copies of the Koran has drawn global condemnation. Obama restricting him from doing so is an important step for maintaining religious amity and harmony in the world," Madhya Pradesh unit president of All-India Muslim Educational Society (AIMES), Mohammad Ibrahim Quereshi said here.He said that all units of the AIMES including Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have welcomed Jones decision to cancel the burning of the Koran and thanked Obama as well as the Indian government in this regard.
