Caught in a politically dicey situation after the Congress twisted the PAC vs JPC debate in the 2G scam to its advantage, the BJP has managed to extract a face-saver from public accounts committee (PAC) chairman Murli Manohar Joshi.
“As a member of the BJP, I am fully committed to the demand for the formation of a JPC to look into the broader questions related to corruption,” he said.
Non-plussed by his stridency on the issue, the party leadership arranged a meeting between him and BJP chief Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday night. The statement issued by Joshi after meeting Gadkari said the PAC would look into the 2G spectrum matter in the light of the CAG findings.
