#MumbaiRains: City experiences light showers, local trains come to a halt

The sweltering heat finally gave way to rains in Mumbai as the island city experienced showers in the evening. Mumbai has been bone dry for a while but the heavens finally opened up on Wednesday. While the city did receive light showers on Sunday, they lasted less than a few minutes. SkyMet had predicted a rainy week ahead. They also predicted intense rains after May 25 in the maximum city until May 31. They say the rains will occur in patches.

Twitterati reported that the rains had caused heavy traffic jams and on some lines brought local trains to a halt.
