Though the heavy rains pounded the Mumbai city and suburbs for the second day on Wednesday, WhatsApp messages of certain major roads being closed for vehicular traffic are fake.

Heavy rains have disrupted flight operations at the Mumbai airport and delayed suburban train services in the financial capital. The situation has worsened in Borivali, situated in North-West Mumbai. Heavy rain continues in the area and residents have shifted their belongings elsewhere. Most people have also parked their cars in other places. 

Earlier, the police said that the traffic situation in Mumbai as of now is by and large normal, police said, "Worli Sea Link, Pedder road, Sion Bridge are open with smooth traffic movement."

Mumbai police also said that there is water logging at SV Road where traffic has been diverted through Linking Road.

Meanwhile, 63 Jet Airways, 8 Indigo, 3 Spicejet and 1 GoAir flights cancelled due to bad weather at Mumbai airport.
