The disruption in the supply of Compressed Natural Gas is set to extend into Friday. In a statement, the Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) said, "It is estimated that gas supply will take some more time to get normalized i.e. in next 24 hours, as all precautions are being undertaken to ensure safety of equipment & manpower deployed in repairing and restoration work."

The firm said that it is ensuring that supply to its domestic PNG consumers would always be on priority and continue uninterrupted. CNG stations from Kandivali to Bhayander may not be functional because of the disruption, however, MGL is making all out efforts to supply the required quantity of CNG to BEST buses.

A gas pipeline on the Western Express Highway at Malad (E) was damaged on Wednesday while the excavation work by MMRDA’s contractor was in progress. This had resulted in temporary disruption of gas supply in areas between Malad to Mira Road.
