The alert was sent after the technical intelligence unit picked up a mobile phone conversation in which the plot was discussed. Two people living in Andheri (West), who are part of the alleged plot have been identified, said IB sources.

Reportedly, both the suspects were questioned by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the crime branch.

While one of them has been identified as someone associated with an underworld gang, the other person has criminal antecedents, said police sources.

Police stations concerned have been informed about the threat, said officials to HT. Adequate measures have been taken to ensure the safety of citizens, said a senior IPS officer.
