Mumbai airport to change terminals for SpiceJet, IndiGo, GoAir domestic and international flights

The move is aimed at streamlining passenger and airlines convenience.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai today announced unified operations of all international flights for SpiceJet, Indigo, and GoAir from Terminal-2 of the airport starting October 1, in a move to streamline passenger and airlines convenience.

All domestic operations of the IndiGo and GoAir airlines have been shifted to Terminal-1, while their international flights will now operate from Terminal-2. Whereas, the entirety of the operation of SpiceJet airlines will take place from Terminal-2.

 

 

 

“Starting October 1, IndiGo and GoAir to operate all domestic flights from T1 and International from T2, while SpiceJet to shift full operation to T2," said a press release from the Mumbai International Airport, "The structural streamline of airlines initiated for the greater benefit and convenience of the passengers.”

It added that being one of the busiest airports in India, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has now allocated Terminal-1 with the terminal boarding bridges for all airlines. While Terminal-2 of the airport operates both domestic as well as international flights, the airport currently operates 50 international and nine domestic airlines on aggregate. The primary runway at CSMIA handles more than 46 arrivals and departures per hour while the secondary runway has a capacity of 35 flight movements per hour, the release added.

In the last calendar year, the airport had recorded footfall of over 48 million passengers.
