Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today made light of SP MP's Jaya Prada's protests over the way Amar Singh is being treated, saying opposition within party ranks only indicates his "stature"."Agar virodh nahi kerenge toh hamari hasiyat kya rah jayegi (If there is no opposition then what will be left of my stature)," he said to questions posed by mediapersons here about Jaya Prada's protests and about voices of resentment against him within the party."Jab virodh bandh ho jayega toh main janunga ki hamari hasiyat khatam, virodh usi ka hota hai jiska hasiyat hota hai (When opposition will end, I will feel that my stature has diminished. There is opposition only when a person has some stature," Yadav quipped. To a specific query on Jaya Prada's reported statement that one family was responsible for Amar Singh's condition, he said the SP was moving ahead and was not paying heed to any statement at this juncture."We have moved ahead and it is evident from our January 19 agitation (against price rise and corruption)," Yadav said.At the same time, the SP chief said all these issues were internal matter of the 'Samajwadi family' and would be sorted out through discussions."Yeh Samajwadi pariwar ki baat hai, hum aapas mein baatkar lenge, akhbaron ke madhyam se baat nahi karenge (It's aninternal matter of the Samajwadi family. We will discuss itinternally and not through newspapers)," he said.
