"In reference to the latest announcement by the government of India to cease Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 as legal tender, we at Mother Dairy would like to inform that all our milk and Safal booths will be accepting these aforementioned denominations till the midnight of November 11," the company said.

Mother Dairy also said the company has been providing convenient cashless transaction solutions to consumers over the last two years with SBI SmartChange Cards, which are accepted at around 730 booths in Delhi-NCR.

"We plan to further increase acceptance and availability of these cash cards," it said.

Recently, the company also introduced mobile wallet payment solution through Paytm, thereby allowing them to stop worrying about the cash handling in times of transition and thereafter. The service is currently available at more than 710 booths across the NCR region.

"We request our valuable consumers to make use of these cashless transaction options for your daily consumption and usage," the company said.

Mother Dairy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), has diversified portfolio with presence in dairy products, edible oil, fruits and vegetables -- fresh as well as frozen -- and pulses.
