Modi 2.0 Cabinet reshuffle: 43 new ministers take oath

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's team is getting a makeover today. The swearing-in ceremony has started and Narayan Rane was the first minister to be sworn in.

As many as 43 new members are all set to be sworn in this evening in PM's new cabinet which will be one of the most inclusive with record representation of SC, ST members.

It is also being said that the Cabinet reshuffle is taking place with a focus on upcoming elections in five states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur next year.

The list of probable ministers in the new cabinet of PM Narendra Modi includes Jyotiraditya Scindia (Madhya Pradesh), Sarvanand Sonowal (Assam), Sushil Modi (Bihar), Pashupati Nath Paras (LJP), RCP SINGH/ Lalan Singh (JDU), Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal), Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Ajay Bhat, Narayan Rane (Maharashtra) Heena Gavit (Maharashtra), Varun Gandhi (Uttar Pradesh), Pratap Simha (Karnataka), Bijendra Singh (Haryana), Pravesh Verma, Zafar Islam, Ashwini Vaishnav (Odisha)

Notably, several ministers including Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Dr Harsha Vardhan, Santosh Gangwar, Sadananda Gowda, Deboshree Chaudhary, Ratanlal Kataria, Sanjay Dhotre, Rao Saheb Danve Patil, Babylon supremo, Pratab Sarangi have already resigned from their posts.

Much importance has been given to the cast factor in the new cabinet of PM Modi. It is being said that as many as 27 OBC, 12 SC, 8 ST, 5 minorities and 27 ministers from other communities will get ministerial berths. Similarly, the representation of women has also been taken care of and a total of 11 women can be in the cabinet, out of which 2 are cabinet ministers. There are talks of the inclusion of women ministers from 9 states in the cabinet, who represent 9 communities.

Young leaders have also been taken care of in the new cabinet. The average age of the new cabinet will be 58 years, while the average age of the current cabinet is 61 years. There are 14 ministers in the cabinet, whose age is less than 50 years and these include 6 cabinet ministers.

In the new cabinet, preference has been given to youth as well as experienced politicians. This time, 46 such ministers are included, who have been ministers in the Centre earlier also. There are 23 ministers who have become MPs 3 or more times. Apart from this, 4 former Chief Ministers, 18 former ministers in the state cabinet and 39 former MLAs have also been included in the cabinet.

Along with experience, preference has been given to education i.e. educated MPs. The new cabinet includes 13 lawyers, 6 doctors, 5 engineers, 7 civil servants. Apart from this, 7 ministers are PhD, 3 MBA and 68 graduates.
