Two mobile phones with simcards of a private company were recovered from a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant slain in a gunbattle with security forces, police said today."We will verify details of the cards. The investigation is on how the militant got possession of these mobile cards," DSP (Operation) Mushin Ahmed told PTI. A self-styled divisional commander of Hizbul, identified as Mohammad Iqbal Alam alias Abu Bakar, was killed in a fierce gun battle with security forces in Reasi district of Jammu region yesterday. Involved in a number of terrorist activities, Bakar was a resident of Pederai in Karachi in Pakistan, the DSP said.Recently, Union home minister P Chidambaram had asked the security agencies to undertake fool-proof screening of all mobile subscribers to ensure that no such connection goes into wrong hands. The Centre had lifted the ban on pre-paid mobile phones in Jammu and Kashmir on January 22.
