A photojournalist who had taken a picture of a Congress MLA dozing off during the assembly session last week was today allegedly assaulted by the legislator inside the house.Walton Lytan, was assaulted within the assembly premises by Founder Strong Cajee after Chief Minister Mukul Sangma delivered his budget speech.The photograph in which the Mawlai MLA was seen taking a nap had appeared in a couple of vernacular newspapers here. Terming the incident as "unfortunate", Leader of Opposition Conrad K Sangma said, "It is unbecoming of an elected representative to behave in this manner and that too within the premises of the assembly"."We will be taking up this matter and ensure that the speaker takes action against the erring legislator," he said.While an FIR has been lodged with the police, the opposition has assured the aggrieved media persons here that the matter will be raised on the floor of the house tomorrow.
