A special CBI court had on Friday extended the CBI custody of MHA Under Secretary by five days. His custody was to come to an end today. The CBI, which began scrutinising various files related to the MHA Under Secretary last Tuesday, told the court that they found 14 files, of which seven were seized.

Joshi fled after the charges of corruption were slapped on him, but was arrested earlier this month and sent to the CBI custody. CBI is scanning email correspondences that Joshi had with representatives of NGOs and also looking into properties which are in Joshi's wife's name.

Joshi, who was found hiding at a relative's residence in Tilak Nagar, had left home in Indirapuram to evade questioning by the CBI on May 11, leaving behind a letter in which he claimed that he was subjected to mental harassment.
