JAMMU: A group of suspected militants strung up a Pakistani flag on a tree in Rajouri district and left a note warning locals against taking it down.

The unidentified men fastened the flag to a tree in Nariyar-Iqbalgat area on Wednesday evening, a day after Independence Day, and alarmed residents informed police and Rashtriya Rifles personnel who removed it, sources said.

An unsigned printed note left at the spot warned people against removing it and said: "Delhi will be our next target".

Police dismissed the incident, saying, "It is a minor issue that does not merit much attention."
