Security forced on Saturday busted a militant hideout and seized large quantity of arms and ammunition in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Based on specific information, the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Samote along with troops of Territorial Army and police personnel recovered large cache of arms and ammunition from a natural hideout in general area Khangar Forest of Rajouri district," Udhampur based Defence Spokesman Col SD Goswami said.

He said that the recovered cache included one AK- 56 Rifle, two Pistols, one UBGL, one 7.62 mm barrel, six magazines of AK-47, three rounds of RPG, two Anti Tank Rifle grenades, two UBGL grenades, two Chinese hand grenades, 120 rounds of AK-47, eight rounds of Pika, 30 rounds of Pistol, 166 rounds of 303 Rifle, one Pouch and one Solar Plate. "The timely recovery of the cache has prevented any untoward incident in the area, thereby thwarting the evil designs of the terrorists. The Army has been conducting relentless operations to ensure ensuing peace and stability in the region," Col Goswami said.
