DEHRADUN: A slight intensity earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale hit Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand this morning.

Met Director Anand Sharma said that the tremor was felt around 8.57 am in Pithoragarh, a high seismic zone.

However, no loss of life or property was reported, police said.

They said people in rushed out of their houses when the quake struck.

It was epicentred at 29.6 degrees north latitude and 80.2 east longitude.
