JAMMU: The husband of a young army officer, who died under mysterious circumstances, on Thursday alleged that his tongue was chopped off by some armymen in the camp at Kunjwani on the outskirts of the city.

The army, however, maintained it was a "drama" enacted by Captain Chaitanya Bhatwadekar, who himself took the step.

Chaitanya, who was admitted to Satwari-based base military hospital, made the claim of his tongue being chopped off in a statement to police.

Police are investigating the case on the basis of his statement.

The special police team headed by sub-divisional police officer A K Chowhan, investigating his wife Megha Razdan's murder, visited the hospital and recorded Chaitanya's statement.

26-year-old Megha Razdan's was found hanging from  a ceiling fan on July 2 at the Kujwani army camp and police were investigating the cause of her death.
