Haryana's Secretary of Administrative Reforms Pradip Kasni has been transferred to a low profile job just nine days after he raised a red flag over the appointments of five senior officials by the state's Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. According to Kasni this is his 60th transfer in 30 years of his job as an IAS officer, media reports suggested.

Not only were these appointments made within hours of the BJP's nominee Kaptan Singh Solanki taking oath as governor, but what was really odd was that the oath-taking ceremony was held at the chief minister's residence, NDTV reported.

Kasni had refused to sign the appointment letters of the two Information Commissioners and three Right to Service Commissioners, stating that due procedure was not followed. The governor of the state had asked for a report on the controversial appointments from the state government. The chief minister insists that the outgoing governor had given him the authority to make the appointments.

Media reports suggest that Kasni was transferred just 30 minutes after he took charge as the secretary of the state electricity commission in 2006. Similarly, he was transferred from the post of the director of industrial training just 10 days after appointment in 2012.
