Personnel of Forest and Police department on Saturday seized about 2,360 kg of dry marijuana worth Rs one crore from a lorry at Khammam district, police said on Saturday. The marijuana stuffed in gunny bags was concealed below other items in the lorry which was loaded from Orissa and was intercepted near Bhadrachalam town of the district, during a joint search operation by Forest and Police department.
    
Three persons, including the owner of the consignment B Veerbhadra Naik of Warangal and driver of the lorry have been arrested in connection with the seizure, Bhadrachalam ASP Raghu Ram Reddy told PTI. "We are verifying where the lorry was proceeding and for whom the consignment was destined to ," the police officer said.
    
The seized marijuana is expected to be worth Rs 1 crore as the retailing of it would fetch more than Rs 3,000 per kilo, the police officer said. A case has been registered in this connection and further investigations were on, he said.
