Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will review the security and border situation during his two-day visit from August 23 to Jammu and Kashmir's Ladakh region. "The Defence Minister will visit Jammu and Kashmir on his 2-day tour from August 23 to Ladakh region of the state," Defence sources said.

He will arrive in Leh on Sunday and will leave for Delhi on Monday, the sources said. The Defence Minister, who will be accompanied by Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, will hold a high-level meeting of top commanders of Jammu and Kashmir to review the security situation, cross border infiltration and border security setup.

He is scheduled to address troops in Leh. He will be received by General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command Lt Gen DS Hooda during the visit.
